Following the success of the Patrone 100 that marked the shipyard’s 100th anniversary, Italian yacht designer Tommaso Spadolini has partnered with yacht builder Patrone Moreno to create the Patrone 45.

The 45-foot vessel came after requests from owners who wanted the same style of the Patrone 100 on a larger scale. According to a news release from Tommaso Spadolini, the Patrone 45 is scheduled to debut at the fall boat shows.

“The Patrone 45 was born on the wave of the success of the Patrone 100 and the requests of many owners who wanted the same charm and elegance of that 10-meter boat on a larger scale,” said Tommaso Spadolini in the emailed news release. “For the Patrone 45 (as for its predecessor), our goal was to create an open cruiser designed for people who want to live the whole day outdoors without sacrificing absolute comfort in the interiors.”

Designing the Patrone 45

Tommaso Spadolini started from the concept of enjoyment on board, which fifth-generation shipyard owners Gianarnaldo and Benedetta Moreno were keen on. Looking to modernize the classic charm of the Ligurian gozzo, the builders and the designer are crafting a boat without short-lived trends of fashion, but with lots of space both inside and out.

The yacht will be customizable with five layout options, and will have a V-Drive transmission and a pair of 440 hp Yanmar diesel engines.

“When designing the Patrone 45, we listened to all the comments received on the Patrone 100,

further enhancing the concepts of seaworthiness and habitability,” Spadolini said in the news release. “This vessel is also characterized by light and space, by constant visual contact with the sea, even below deck, thanks to the large windows that almost reach the apex of the bow. The T-top style element, which was an absolute novelty for the Patrone shipyard, was appreciated for its function and therefore used again to shade and provide shelter in much of the stern area.”

The boat will be equipped with a galley and dining space  that can seat up to eight people, and the bridge can be set up by the owner according to their taste. Two large walkways lead to the sun deck, measuring 8 feet by 8 feet. Additionally, the stern sofa will be hydraulically raised to allow access to the engine room for easier maintenance.

“The new flagship is an allegory of happiness on board,” said Benedetta Moreno in the release. “Its large indoor and outdoor spaces exceed the limits of 14 meters [45 feet] to offer cozy and comfortable sharing areas for adults and children. Because joy is not a destination, but a journey to share with the people dearest to us.”
