New for 2025, Bajio has introduced Annette sunglasses with a slight cat eye frame shape. No, she’s not a real lady (nor is she AI-generated), but she was created with women in mind.
Annette is the newest pair of polarized sunglasses for ladies who are outdoor enthusiasts (read: fishing, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, cheerleading at their kids’ events) and need shades for everyday wear. I tested Annette with a black-gloss frame (a bio-based nylon material) and violet-mirror glass lenses ($269; $219 for polycarbonate lenses), and found her to be a perfect catch.
Bajío describes the sunglasses as a “small fit/full wrap,” and sure enough, they were snug on my face and quite comfortable. I have worn them for several long days, and they never slipped off my face, even at the beach where it was wet, sandy, salty and sweaty in Florida’s summer heat. The wide, sun-blocking temples wrapped nicely behind my ears without pinching and stayed in place securely thanks to the ergonomic rubber temple tips and vented nose pads with a nonslip grip. The polarized glass lenses block 100 percent of ultraviolet rays, which protected my eyes from squinting and stressing in the sun’s all-day glare. I had clarity and could see color differentiations in the ocean water.
Annette comes with a drawstring “purse” (just like a lady). Bajío was clever to design Annette’s microfiber bag to double as a cleaning cloth—very smart. Annette is now my new favorite pair of sunglasses and BFF for outdoor activities.
For those who need glasses with magnification, Bajío offers Annette in reader and prescription styles ($249 and $585, respectively). To see Bajío’s full selection of styles and colors in frames and lenses, go to bajiosunglasses.com.
