Boatox is a 2000 Hatteras 70, tournament-ready sport-fisherman with yacht-level accommodations. Twin 1,800 hp MTU diesels will push the 70 to a reported top speed of 34 knots with a range of around 400 nautical miles. Boatox accommodates eight guests in four staterooms and is asking $599,000.
Boatox’s business end, the cockpit, is equipped with a stowage and tackle center, two drop-in fish boxes, built-in fish box, outriggers and Eskimo ice machine. Once the “big one” is hooked up, strap into the fighting chair and get to work. The captain can spin on the fish with a clear view from the flybridge’s aft deck helm station. Friends can watch the action from an aft-facing cushioned bench-style settee. A walk-through transom door helps bring the catch aboard. The cockpit’s freshwater washdown helps with cleanup.
The enclosed flybridge has two custom helm chairs, and an L-shaped settee to port is available for guests. Grab a beverage from the wet bar with granite countertops and find the game on the TV while cruising to that secret fishing spot. The helm has the following navigation and electronic systems:
Over the last few years, several key features have been replaced or upgraded:
Step inside the salon and relax on the port side L-shaped sofa with stowage underneath, or the starboard side matching oversized ottoman. The woodwork glows from the natural light that flows in from the large windows, allowing guests to continue to enjoy the panoramic views of the water. The carpeted sole and sofa are cozy and promote a relaxed and stress relieving environment. Catch the rest of the game on the new 65-inch smart TV while enjoying beverages from the wet bar.
Boatox’s galley is just forward of the salon, but it keeps an open conversational environment between the two spaces. There is a teak-and-holly sole at the oversized U-shaped dinette. There is plenty of space to stow cold goods in the oversized refrigerator and dry goods in cabinets above and below the counter. Galley amenities include the following:
After a long day on the water, guests can retire to one of four staterooms. The master stateroom is a full-beam suite with a king-size island berth. Relax in the full-size tub or take a hot shower in the en suite head. Stow your personal belongings in the walk-in closet or in one of the 14 drawers. Find a TV show on the smart TV, or nose into a book before falling asleep. The VIP stateroom has a queen-size island berth with stowage underneath and an en suite head with shower. There are large hanging lockers and drawers. Two guest staterooms have two twin-sized berths each with an en suite head with shower. Stowage drawers and a full-sized hanging locker are available for personal belongings, which can be washed in the Whirlpool stacked washer and dryer located in the companionway.
