DATE POSTED:August 12, 2024

OCEA have announced the delivery of 32.70m (107’2″) motor yacht ARAOK II from their Commuter 108 series. The yacht has been designed to navigate the world’s oceans and can comfortably accommodate eight guests and four crew members. Her functional but elegant interior was created by French Suisse designer Pierre Frutschi.

Delivery to the new owner comes after a series of rigorous trials following her launch to fine-tune the yacht and check performance and sea behaviour. To achieve peak performance from a full custom yacht, adjustments of on-board equipment such as stabilisers and steering are essential.

There are always issues that crop up, and the point of the trials is to identify them,” says Antoine de Jonckheere – OCEA Head of Business Management. “We even try to generate problems, to see how the boat reacts.

Tests include endurance at full speed, stopping distances and emergency handling during system shutdowns. The yacht is the first OCEA yacht with IMO Tier III standard engines which will permit her to sail in Emission Control Areas and she is fitted with solar panels to help charge the batteries and optimise the onboard energy management system.
