Sanlorenzo have launched the highly anticipated 49.9m (164’0″) superyacht ALMAX, designed by Piero Lissoni and Zuccon International Project, which is their first fuel-cell powered 50Steel, developed as part of the shipyard’s commitment to net zero by 2030.

The fuel-cell technology converts green methanol into hydrogen and then electricity and allows her hotel load to be entirely emission free. The design also includes the brand-new Hidden Engine Room (HER), a patented design from Sanlorenzo which moves the engine room to a concealed position in the lower deck, allowing for the creation of a 150sqm ‘ocean lounge’ beach club with pool and fold-out terraces.

The impressive additional volume – with up to 3.5m headspace in areas – achieved by the horizontal positioning of the engine room creates a unique split-level layout with a glass-sided staircase which transports guests from the ‘ocean lounge’ and spa up to the main deck salon, central dining area and upper deck salon.

“With the launch of the 50Steel, Sanlorenzo celebrates a fundamental milestone in its history, in the spirit of innovation and sustainability. The new line of superyachts embodies the pioneering spirit and passion for challenges that have always guided us in the design and construction of our fleet,” said Massimo Perotti, chairman and CEO of Sanlorenzo at the launch.

Accommodation is across five suites including an impressive owner’s stateroom complete with office, ensuite and dressing room. Her elegant and contemporary styling are the work of Sanlorenzo’s art director Piero Lissoni who has created a sophisticated aesthetic throughout the yacht.

Following outfitting, superyacht ALMAX is expected to be delivered in July 2024.
