I’ve worn my share of deck boots through my almost 60 years of fishing. FISHOOZ DryRun waterproof boots proved themselves a worthy footwear choice aboard my boat, Breakaway. Feet shod with DryRun Ankle Boots, I chased fluke and striped bass inshore and tuna and dolphin offshore.
First off, these boots are easy on and easy off. Second, FISHOOZ DryRun Ankle Boots provided great traction on wet, bloody and rolling decks. Third, these boots clean easily, only rarely needing a brush to get some bit of entrail that might have gotten missed in the rinse and ended up drying on.
The big highlight is the comfort and support. Some deck boots have left my arches screaming at the end of a long day. FISHOOZ DryRun Ankle Boots left my feet feeling fine.
FISHOOZ DryRun Ankle Boots are very lightweight—lighter than many other deck boots. That’s a great feature as offshore fishing on rough days can really work your legs. These boots offer great lateral support also.

These boots proved to be totally waterproof. The maker states a “running shoe build” with, among other things, a molded footbed, and I can confirm that these boots fit and feel more like sneakers than fishing boots. (I will say that if you have a wide foot, like I do, consider ordering a size up). These boots deliver four-way stretch, breathability and come with a lightweight Dureva hybrid outsole. The uppers are natural neoprene rubber with a breathable Airmesh Lining.
Did I mention that they float?
