The charm of a bygone era is clear to see throughout classic 45.75m (150′ 1″) luxury yacht KALIZMA who was originally built in 1906 and meticulously restored with a comprehensive refit in 2021. She is now a luxury charter yacht with accommodation for up 10 gests in five stunning staterooms.
Designed by GL Watson and built by Ramage & Ferguson, motor/sailing yacht KALIZMA – then MINONA – was the first steam powered yacht to have electric lighting, served as an Auxiliary Patrol Yacht in WW1 and as a rescue boat during WW2. But it was as part of the love story between Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor that she was most famous. In 1967 the couple chartered her for a cruise and loved their time on board so much they later bought the yacht and named it after their three daughters (Kate, Liza and Maria). It was on board that Burton is said to have presented Taylor with the 69-carat diamond, known as the Taylor-Burton Diamond.
The couple were regularly photographed on board with the yacht’s classic good looks remaining the perfect backdrop for a charter vacation. Time will stand still for guests relaxing on the sun deck, dining al fresco or enjoying adrenaline fuelled adventures with the water toys.
The interiors are simply stunning and blend traditional wood panelling with both contemporary and timeless furnishings to create a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. Ambient lighting ensures guests feel cosy on evenings spent inside, while the staterooms are a comfortable oasis, each uniquely decorated and featuring deluxe ensuite bathrooms.
Summer 2025 will see KALIZMA return to the Mediterranean, where Hollywood’s elite owners spent many romantic and family vacations. Create your own love story or epic family adventure on board this fabulous charter yacht and make your own memories part of her history.
