Marine environments present an engineering challenge for audio equipment, requiring hardware that can withstand motor noise, saltwater corrosion, and severe vibrations. To demonstrate how its technology overcomes these obstacles, Roswell Marine hosted a blind audio test at its global headquarters in Rockledge, Florida, pitting its new R1 Pro—the industry’s first 100% digital marine audio system—against a leading competitor.
Unlike brands that modify existing automotive or home audio products, Roswell Marine designs its systems from the ground up specifically for marine acoustics. To put this design to the test, a focus group of six individuals with backgrounds in music, audio engineering, and boating participated in a blind studio comparison.
The studio feedback revealed distinct differences between the two systems:
During the reveal, five out of the six participants correctly identified System A as the Roswell R1 Pro. The group then tested the system on the water, noting that the studio-level clarity transferred seamlessly outdoors, remaining crisp without being drowned out by engine noise.
