Feadship have announced that 75.75m (248’6”) four-deck superyacht ONE has left the shipyard at Kaag. The design, from De Voogt Naval Architects, Azure Yacht Design and Gilles & Boissier, has been optimised for both private use and as a charter vessel.
Exterior designer Thijs Orth from Studio De Voogt tells us about the project, “The brief was for a masculine design that was also timeless and elegant. The predominantly straight lines and bold forms are combined with subtly nuanced surfaces that catch the light and make the whole yacht interesting to look at. As always, we collaborated very closely with the engineers to make sure everything worked as it should.”
Features include a chamfered edge to the bulwarks in the bow that flattens out as the sheer line moves aft: a detail repeated in the main deck windows and superstructure. Visually impressive teak decking has been laid in a diagonal pattern – a first for Feadship.
“To soften the predominantly horizontal lines and add a more sensual feel we also added quite a pronounced tumblehome when viewed from the stern,” says Orth. “This curvature is continued on the sides of the sundeck roof.”
The exterior has many highlights, none less than the three pools: a large jacuzzi on the master stateroom’s terrace, a glass-bottomed pool on the main deck aft and a hot tub on the sundeck aft. The raised foredeck can serve as a touch and go helipad, while there is space in the garage for a 9.5m limo tender, additional crew tender and a variety of water toys.
The transom is more traditional in design with a sweeping staircase either side leading down to the exceptional swim platform with an integrated swim stair. Two inward-folding transom doors access the beach club, illuminated by sunlight from the glass-bottom of the pool.
Versatile ensuite staterooms can accommodate twelve guests in a master on the upper deck, VIP on the main deck and four doubles on the lower deck.
She is powered by twin MTU engines which delivers a top speed of 15 knots + and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
“We had a lot of fun designing this yacht,” concludes Orth. “Masculine elegance is not an easy look to achieve, but ONE is robust yet sleek and chic at the same time.”
Superyacht ONE is scheduled for delivery in early 2025 and we hope she will fulfil her destiny by becoming a premium charter yacht.
